<p>SI-Droid Event is an Android app that makes it possible to arrange simple orienteering events with SportIdent without
having to bring along more than a mobile phone/tablet and a SI Readout Station to the event site. No need for a computer anymore.</p>

<p>The basic idea when using the app is that it should need as little preparation as possible before the event.
The only preparation you need to do is to configure the name, date and zero time (especially if SICard5 is used) of the event under
<b>Settings</b> to be ready. The rest is easily handled at the same time as the runners are finishing.</p>

<p>To be able to connect the SI Readout Station to the phone, a USB-OTG adapter is needed. Such an adapter should be available in most phone or electronic shops
for less than €10. When connecting a station via the USB-OTG adapter to your device, take care not to damage the USB port in your device. The USB port could easily
break if you e.g. drop the station while it's connected to the phone.

<p>IMPORTANT: When a USB Station or a serial-to-USB converter is connected to the phone, the dialog <b>Choose an app for the USB device</b> will automatically be shown. <p><b><font color=red>For the readout to work properly, it's very important that the SI-Droid Event app is actively selected in this dialog and that the
notification becomes visible in the notification area!</font></b> <p>If this has not been done, you will not be able to read out any cards.

<p>There is a notification icon <img src='ic_stat_simaster.png'/> that belongs to the app which shows up in the notification area. When this notification icon is visible,
it will mean that the app have contact with either an SI Station or a serial-to-USB converter and can receive card readouts.
When the notification icon is blinking it indicates that the app is active talking to the station and reads out a card.

<p>It is not necessary for the main window of the app to be visible for card readouts to be possible. The important thing is that the notification is showing.
This also means that readouts will be possible even if the screen is turned off and locked or if e.g. a phone call is being made.

<p>Shutdown the entire app, including the card readout, by opening the app and choose <b>Exit</b> in the main menu.

<p>SI-Droid Event est une application Android qui permet d'organiser des courses d'orientation simples avec le système SportIdent sans avoir besoin de plus de matériel qu'un téléphone mobile (ou une tablette) et une station de lecture SI. Plus besoin d'un ordinateur !</p>

<p>L'idée principale lorsqu'on utilise l'application est que l'organisation d'une course nécessite le moins de préparation possible. La seule chose à faire est de configurer le nom, la date et l'heure de départ (surtout si des puces SICard5 sont utilisées) de la course dans <strong>Réglages</strong>Réglages. Le reste se gère facilement au moment où les coureurs terminent la course.</p>

<p>Pour pouvoir connecter la station de lecture SI au téléphone, un cordon USB-OTG est indispensable. Il s'achète dans la plupart des boutiques de téléphonie ou d'électronique pour moins de 10 €. Quand vous branchez la station via l'adaptateur USB-OTG, veillez à ne pas abîmer le port USB de votre appareil. Le port USB pourrait facilement être endommagé si, par exemple, vous faites tomber la station alors qu'elle est reliée au téléphone.</p>

<p>IMPORTANT : Quand une station USB ou un convertisseur Série-USB est branché au téléphone, la fenêtre de dialogue <strong>Choisissez une appli pour le dispositif USB</strong> apparaît automatiquement.</p>
<p><strong><font color="red">Pour que la lecture se passe bien, il est impératif que l'application SI-Droid Event soit clairement sélectionnée dans ce dialogue et que cette notification devienne visible dans la zone de notification !</font></strong></p>

<p>Une notification de l'application apparaîtra avec l'icône <img src='"ic_stat_simaster.png'/"> pour signifier que l'application a bien établi le contact avec la station maître SI ou avec le convertisseur Série-USB et que l'on peut lire les puces. Quand l'icône de notification clignote, cela indique que l'application est en train de dialoguer avec la station maître SI et de lire une puce.</p>

<p>Il n'est pas nécessaire que la fenêtre de l'application soit visible pour que la lecture des puces soit possible. En revanche, l'icône de notification doit bien montrer que la puce est lue. Cela signifie que la lecture des puces est également possible même si l'écran est éteint et verrouillé ou si, par exemple, un appel téléphonique est en cours.</p>

<p>Pour éteindre entièrement l'application, il suffit d'ouvrir l'application et de choisir <b>Quitter</b> dans le menu principal.</p>
